We’re Raving about Safes

Dye Hawley wrote this 10:25 pm:

Usually, around here at SafeandVaultStore.com, we’re pretty modest people. We don’t like to go and brag about ourselves or our business too much. But sometimes it’s hard not to share some of the love we receive each and every day. Even if just to show you, dear customers, that we’re listening and we’re paying attention to all the good (and occasionally bad) feedback you give us. If DH from Lake Lure is out there reading this, feel free to chime in and let us know how you’re doing with your new safe.

I wanted to take a moment to offer a “rave” review of your company. I was in the market for a gun safe and happened upon your website while doing my research. The site is very well laid out and I was totally surprised and impressed by the amount of information available to help your customers make a good buying decision. My experience with your company only got better from there. When I ordered my safe, a Mesa model MBF6030, I explained to Mr. Dye Hawley, that we were on a somewhat tight time schedule for delivery due to my business travel. He assured me that a safe was in stock at the manufacturer and that our delivery needs would be met. As things sometimes happen, the factory had a problem delivering that particular safe in our time frame. Mr. Hawley graciously offered to either find a substitute or happily refund our money. Not only did Mr. Hawley find a substitute, he offered to upgrade us to a MBF6032, a larger safe, at no additional charge. He was able to get the safe shipped immediately and have it installed well within our requested time frame. In this day and age, it is so refreshing to do business with a company that is willing to go the extra mile to satisfy it’s customers. I will certainly come back to Safe and Vault Store for my safe and security needs and I will recommend them to all my friends and business associates.

As many of you know, personal safety is a critical consideration for handing a gun. Well personal safety is also important for selecting a gun safe. Things to consider include:

Are there children in the house?
Who else needs access to the gun safe?
What happens if there’s no power?
What happens if you forget the combination?

We will talks about these issues in more depth on another post.

Are Gun Safes Water Proof?

Dominic Schwebs wrote this 4:21 pm:

Are gun safes water proof? This question is asked by many of our customers and the truth is, there are no gun safes to our knowledge that are “water proof”. Many people are misled by other companies that a water proof safe exists. Most all gun safes use a “Paulsel Seal” around the door named for the inventor. This seal expands to 5 times its size when a fire is burning outside the gun safe. (heat activated) The seal will help make the gun safe SOMEWHAT water and/or smoke “resistant” but not smoke or water proof. All fire safes except for the Honeywell Waterproof Fire Safe must be able to vent the “cloud of steam” that builds up inside, so the safe CANNOT be water proof. (more…)

What does Lee Iacocca and George Bush know about safes?

Jay Hunt wrote this 1:39 pm:

I recently came upon a very cool article promoting a book that Lee Iacocca wrote. The following link provides an excerpt that is very interesting reading. The man obviously is not a supporter of George Bush and like Lee, I support change.

Store your Firearms in a Gun Safe

Many fatal firearm accidents and suicides occur when children and teenagers discover guns at home that have been left loaded and not secured in a gun safe. While over 22 million children live in households that have at least one gun, keeping a firearm in the home is a serious decision and one that should not be made lightly. (more…)
