What does Lee Iacocca and George Bush know about safes?

I recently came upon a very cool article promoting a book that Lee Iacocca wrote. The following link provides an excerpt that is very interesting reading. The man obviously is not a supporter of George Bush and like Lee, I support change.

As a “pro business” person I do support much of what the government is doing. However, there are many other things that are not right with our country’s leadership and I was thinking that we could, rhetorically speaking, design a gun safe that would lock up Mr. Bush for just a short time and perhaps doing so would humble him into listening to the voice of the people.

More importantly, I take offense at Mr. Iacocca’s assertion that everything is screwed up. It is easy to ask the questions and easy to talk about what is wrong. His rants are inspiring and some right on the mark. But I question the integrity of someone who is self-aggrandizing and known to be extremely ego driven.

Better yet, maybe Lee Iacocca’s answer to the borderless infiltration of illegal immigrants is to build a safe that would entirely encompass our borders. The great wall of Lee! Heck, we’d even help sell it to him. We’d be rich! All kidding aside, it is easy to point out the faults but what he lacks are the answers.

He rants about how George Bush does not read the newspapers. Why? I believe it is because the newspapers do nothing more than talk about what is wrong in the world. There are other much better ways to get good insightful (and not slanted) information. Who wants to read about Britney Spears for the umpteenth time? Speaking of which, we have a depository safe available for all those that would like to see her locked up.

All in all, Mr. Iacocca brings up some really good questions. I agree a lot has to change. But as a business person, when someone brings a problem to me I also require them to bring a couple of solutions. This is where Lee Iacocca fails.

I’m a lover of Ford Mustangs so I have to give him the nod. Too bad Lee is eighty four years old or else I’d vote for his nomination to Presidency. Then we’d really find out if he is more than just words.

By the way, Lee is no dummy when it comes to marketing. He developed a web site that promotes dialogue about the woes of society. It also heavily promotes his book “Where Have All The Leaders Gone?” Hmmm… maybe he should think about donating all of the profits to help come up with a solution to some of the issues he so eloquently rants about.

Which leads back to my original assertion – maybe the whole answer is to put Lee Iacocca and George Bush in a large gun safe, lock the door, and tell them to not come out until they have figured out all the problems that we face!

Anybody venture to say whether this would work?
