Yes, the internal mechanisms of a lock are precise. Over a period of time and use, the locks, bolts, and hinges will need cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment. We recommend that you contact a local "locksmith" or "safe technician" in your area every 2-3 years to have your lock serviced.  You can find them in the Yellow Pages under Locksmiths or Safe Technicians.
