What Should You Keep in a Safe?

Posted by Alexandra on

A safe is a wonderful piece of machinery that guarantees some peace of mind. If you are on the fence about whether or not you need a safe, I wanted to give you some idea of things that are often kept in safes—both in burglar safes and in fire safes.

Burglar Safe Goods:

–        Jewelry

–        Gold, Silver, and other precious minerals and stones

–        Cash

–        Collectibles

–        Heirlooms such as old watches, broaches

–        Firearms

–        Keys and access cards for secure areas

–        Technological equipment such as a camera or computer

–        Electronic hard-drive or CD backups of sensitive information

Fire Safe Goods:

–        Birth certificate

–        Death certificate

–        Marriage certificate

–        Home deed

–        Tax information

–        Airline tickets and hotel reservations

–        Previous notes and letters

–        Sensitive password information

–        Bank account information

–        Precious sentimental things (a child’s first lock of hair or first tooth

Can you think of any other things that you could keep in a safe? I’m sure there are a million more things depending on what you do in your private life and at your job. We’d love to hear more in the comments.
