winchester-outrider-25-gun-safe-with-60-minute-fire-rating-and-electronic-lock
Winchester Outrider 25 Gun Safe with 60-Minute Fire Rating and Electronic Lock

Winchester Outrider 25 Gun Safe with 60-Minute Fire Rating and Electronic Lock

The Winchester Outrider 25 is a 35-long-gun capacity safe in Winchester's Outrider series, built on a 12-gauge solid steel body with a 60-minute fire rating at 1400°F. It is the right pick for a collection in the 30 to 35 long gun range that needs serious fire protection, a UL Listed SecuRam electronic lock, and the distinctive Midnight Blue finish that sets the Outrider line apart from Winchester's Slate, Black, and White lineup. At 60 inches tall, 30 inches wide, and 24 inches deep with a 582-pound empty weight, the Outrider 25 sits comfortably in a dedicated safe-room corner, a basement wall, or a finished garage, and needs the pre-drilled anchor holes bolted to the floor during setup since a 582-pound safe isn't something you want to move twice.

The Outrider series ships in Winchester's Midnight Blue finish, a durable, powder-coated deep blue that reads richer than flat black or cold Slate grey against most interiors, and comes with a 5-spoke brushed chrome handle (a more detailed handle treatment than the single lever on Winchester's budget lines). The brushed chrome against the Midnight Blue gives the safe a distinct visual presence appropriate for a trophy room, a mancave, or a dedicated safe room where the safe is part of the room's design rather than a utility item tucked in a closet.

Inside the Outrider 25, Winchester ships 21 GunStiXX plus 1 GunStiXX plate. GunStiXX are Winchester's rifle spacers that slip over the barrel of each long gun and keep the stocks from clashing in the bottom of the safe, protecting finished wood and cheek pieces from rub marks. The U-shaped barrel rack with auxiliary shelves holds the long guns upright and separates them along a curved track so the barrels fan out evenly across the back wall. Adjustable side shelving lets you carve out a top-shelf zone for handguns, ammunition, documents, and valuables, and Winchester's door panel organizer adds pistol holders and small-parts pockets at eye level for frequently accessed items.

The retractable utility shelf is the Outrider's unique interior feature. The shelf pulls out from inside the safe up to a 75-pound maximum capacity, giving you a surface for inspecting a rifle, cleaning a scope, loading magazines, or working on gear without needing a separate workbench nearby. For buyers who store their safe in a basement, garage, or dedicated gun room, the retractable shelf doubles the safe as a maintenance workspace, which is practical when you don't want to carry rifles out to a workbench in another room.

The Outrider 25 uses a UL Listed SecuRam electronic lock, the same commercial-grade lock Winchester uses on its Bandit, Ranger, Legacy, and Evolution series. SecuRam is a well-established commercial safe-lock brand, UL 768 certified for pick resistance, manipulation resistance, and endurance. Winchester states the Outrider 25 exceeds California DOJ requirements, which is the regulatory floor most firearms storage buyers care about.

On construction, the Outrider 25 is built from 12-gauge solid steel formed with robotic welds, a step heavier than the 14-gauge body on Winchester's Bandit and Ranger series. The composite steel door carries an added UL-rated fireboard layer, and solid steel external strap hinges mount the door with dead-locking bolts on the hinge side that cannot be compromised in a burglary attack. UL-rated fireboard protection is layered into the ceiling, walls, and door, and the Palusol heat-expanding door seal around the perimeter of the door expands over 6x its size when heated to seal the gap between the door and the body during a fire, cutting off the hot gas and smoke pathway that would otherwise degrade a standard rubber or foam seal under fire conditions.

Winchester backs the Outrider 25 with a Lifetime Limited Warranty plus a Lifetime Free Replacement Guarantee for both fire damage and burglary damage, which is the strongest warranty position Winchester offers across its series.

If you need fewer than 35 long guns and a smaller footprint, the Winchester Bandit 19 holds up to 30 long guns in a 14-gauge body and offers a 45-minute fire rating. If you want the same 60-minute fire rating with a Two-Tone, Stealth Black, Americana, or Heritage Green color option and the retractable Utility Shelf in the Ranger platform's naming, the Winchester Ranger 44 is in the same tier, with 55 long-gun capacity.
