Vulcan vault doors turn an ordinary room into a serious security asset. Built in the USA and designed to drop into a standard 81 inch high by 37 inch wide rough opening and typical 2x4 wall, the Vulcan 8036 gives homeowners a clean way to create a walk in gun room, panic room, or secure storage space without a full custom build.
Both models in this collection share the same hardened core. Each Vulcan 8036 uses a 10 gauge steel plate door and frame with an internal layer of 5/8 inch fire rock for protection against fire. Eight 1-inch diameter locking bolts secure the latch side of the door, while an extended locking bar on the hinge side helps defeat hinge attacks and prying.
Security and daily usability are built in. The door comes equipped with a SecuRam electronic lock protected by a drill resistant hard plate. A three spoke turn handle and auxiliary pull make it easy to open and close. An internal release allows you to both lock the door from the inside as well as escape without the need for a code. You'll never get stuck inside, but unwanted entry will not be allowed. An important feature of any panic room, storm shelter or gun room.
You can choose a configuration that fits your layout. The outswing Vulcan vault door is ideal when the rooms interior dimensions are limited, while the inswing version works better in tight hallways or in storm shelter applications, as it will not be blocked shut by debris. Both are finished in a durable gray thermoset powder coat made to just as easily blend in or be a center piece in the man-cave.
