The Hollon 845E-JD is a purpose-built fire and burglary jewelry safe for homeowners or collectors who want five velvet-lined drawers to organize rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, plus additional shelf space above for larger valuables. It's built on the same body as Hollon's FB-845E Oyster Series safe, so you get the same combined fire and burglary construction, but with the interior configured as a five-drawer jewelry chest with adjustable shelves above. It delivers a 2-hour fire rating at 1,850 degrees Fahrenheit (JIS & GOST certified), three massive 1.5-inch moving front bolts, a 1-inch thick vertical locking bar on the hinge side, a heavy-duty vault-style hinge, a glass relocker, a Sargent & Greenleaf digital electronic keypad, and a 440-pound cabinet on a 33.25 by 21-inch footprint.

The interior features five pre-finished, high-gloss black jewelry drawers with polished chrome pulls, each lined in soft black velvet to protect polished metal and gemstone settings from scratches. Each drawer measures 3.625 inches tall with about 3 inches of usable load height, sized to hold rings, watches, bracelets, chains, brooches, cufflinks, small collectibles, or coin cases without stacking. Two adjustable interior shelves sit above the drawer stack for storing watch boxes, cash bags, small handguns, tall bottles, or larger items that won't fit in the drawers. Drawer interiors come in five configurable insert layouts: large open compartments, ring compartments with individual ring slots, curved columns sized for necklaces, bracelets, or watches, medium compartments, and cushion-style watch compartments, so you can match the layout to what you actually store.

The Oyster Series stands out from a standard fire-only jewelry safe because it's built to resist a burglary attempt. Three massive 1.5-inch moving front bolts extend into the door frame when the safe is locked, and a full 1-inch thick vertical locking bar runs along the hinge side of the door from top to bottom. On the 845E-JD, even if the hinges are cut off, the door still can't be removed because the locking bar holds it in place from the inside. The heavy-duty vault-style hinges are the same class used on much larger commercial safes, and a glass relocker engages if the lock is punched or drilled in a forced-entry attempt: the internal glass plate shatters on impact and drives permanent locking bolts into place, effectively welding the safe shut against further attack. Note that the 845E-JD carries Hollon's own manufacturer burglary construction designation rather than a UL burglary rating (like RSC, or TL-15), so if your insurance requires a UL-rated burglary safe for high-value jewelry collections, you would need to step up to Hollon's TL-15 line.

The 2-hour fire rating at 1,850 degrees Fahrenheit is a real step up in fire protection over most consumer safes. Most residential fireproof safes are rated for 30 to 45 minutes at 1,400 or 1,550 degrees Fahrenheit. A 2-hour rating at 1,850 degrees Fahrenheit is meaningfully more conservative than the typical residential fire (which peaks around 1,100 to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit and is usually suppressed by the fire department within 20 to 30 minutes). That extra margin matters if you're storing genuinely irreplaceable pieces, heirloom jewelry, or a collection you cannot replace. The safe is independently certified to both Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) and GOST fire testing standards. Construction uses a Portland-cement-based insulation between the inner and outer steel walls, and an intumescent door seal expands to 8 times its original size when exposed to heat, sealing the door against smoke and superheated air infiltration. The 845E-JD is also 30-foot impact rated, which simulates the safe surviving a second-story floor collapse onto concrete during a house fire.

The 845E-JD comes standard with a Sargent & Greenleaf UL-rated Type 1 digital electronic keypad. S&G is the industry-standard lock brand used across banking, government, and commercial safe applications, and their electronic locks are known for reliability and quick programming. You can set one master code and one user code, so a primary owner can hold the master while a spouse or trusted family member has independent access. The electronic keypad opens in seconds, which matters when you're grabbing earrings on your way out the door. If you'd prefer a mechanical Group 2 dial lock instead of an electronic keypad, this same safe is available as the 845C-JD with a UL-listed S&G Group 2 dial.

On the outside, the safe is 33.25 inches tall, 21.00 inches wide, and 22.50 inches deep (add 2 inches for the handle). At 440 pounds, the 845E-JD is heavier than the smaller 685-JD (345 lbs) and starts to reach the weight class where the safe itself is a real theft deterrent, but the safe alone will not stop a determined burglar with a hand truck. One pre-drilled bottom anchor hole is included along with the mounting hardware, and Hollon strongly recommends bolting the safe to a concrete or solid floor in a closet, dressing room, or master bedroom so a thief has to attempt entry in place rather than removing the safe and cracking it open later at their leisure. The grey-white finish gives it a clean look that fits into a closet or dressing room without standing out as an obvious "safe."
