The Challenger M8 is a compact in-room safe designed for hotels, resorts, cruise cabins, offices, and other commercial applications where secure storage is needed without taking up excessive space. Its interior is sized to accommodate laptop computers up to approximately 17", along with valuables, documents, and other personal belongings.
Built with an all-steel body and a 6mm steel door, the M8 combines durable construction with a motorized electronic locking system and twin steel locking bolts. Guests can operate the safe using a programmable 3- to 6-digit PIN, while a manual key override provides backup access when needed. The electronic system uses non-volatile memory, allowing programming and audit information to remain stored even if the batteries are removed or depleted.
The M8DCT configuration also includes a magnetic card reader, allowing compatible magnetic stripe cards to be used in place of a PIN. Additional programmable security settings include an automatic lockout after repeated incorrect entries and an optional opening delay.
For properties managing multiple Challenger safes, the keypad, circuit board, and locking mechanism are designed as interchangeable service components. This can simplify maintenance and reduce the need to replace an entire safe when individual components require service.
The Challenger M8 can be secured using an optional mounting plate or pedestal, providing flexibility for different hotel room and commercial layouts. The mounting plate uses a center-bolt system, while pedestal installations use anti-theft bolts. Triangular, cylindrical, and U-shaped pedestal options are also available.

The Challenger Computerized Emergency Unit, or CEU, is an optional handheld management and service device designed for properties operating Challenger safes.
The CEU can electronically open and power compatible safes, set the date, time, and room number, and retrieve an audit history of the last 200 opening and closing operations. Audit information can also be transferred to a computer for review or printing.
Additional spare parts may be included with qualifying bulk orders to help properties maintain and service multiple Challenger safes.
