The Turtle Contour is UL Listed for fire endurance, impact, and explosion-hazard protection. UL 72 Class 350 means the interior stays below 350°F for at least 1 hour in a 1700°F fire, so the paper records inside remain below the temperature at which they brown and become brittle. The cabinet is also ETL Verified for digital media protection at 30 minutes at 1550°F, meaning USB drives, SSDs, hard drives, and other digital media stored inside survive the same fire without their data degrading. The construction is heated and dropped 30 feet to simulate a building collapse, followed by an additional 30-minute fire endurance test to ensure the cabinet continues to protect your records even if the floor above it gives way during a fire.
The Turtle Contour is also rated IP65 for water resistance, designed to prevent water damage from sprinklers and fire hoses during a fire response. The fire that triggers your sprinkler system or brings firefighters with hoses is usually followed by a soaking that ruins as many records as the flames would have. The IP65 rating protects against both.
The body is built on FireKing's proprietary gypsum-blend fire insulation, reinforced with a 14-gauge galvanized welded steel wire matrix. The exterior is powder-coated for superior scratch, scuff, and stain resistance. A 4-pin key lock secures both drawers, and the drawer suspensions are maintenance-free telescoping rails with a high side for hanging folders. The cabinet accommodates both letter and legal file sizes without reconfiguration.
The 2-Drawer Turtle Contour is 27.5 inches tall, 17.5 inches wide, and 22 inches deep, and is designed to slide under most office work surfaces or fit into a standard file cabinet footprint. The interior drawer measures 10 inches tall, 12 inches wide, and 15 inches deep.
