The AMSEC Guardian Pro 5 (Model PB5) is a compact biometric pistol safe built for the homeowner or vehicle owner who wants AMSEC's Triple-Entry System: finger-swipe biometric, 5-digit electronic keypad, or backup keys. At 11.75 by 10 inches and just 2.75 inches tall, it's sized to fit inside a nightstand drawer, on a closet shelf, in a desk drawer, or underneath a seat in a vehicle. The 14-gauge solid steel body, dual-latch closure, and reinforced interior hinges are built to resist pry attacks and unauthorized entry attempts, and the entire safe is California DOJ-approved to meet the construction and security requirements of Penal Code section 23655.
Three separate ways to unlock the safe give you both quick access when you need it and reliable backup access when the primary method fails. AMSEC's finger-swipe biometric reader stores up to 30 unique prints, so every adult in the household can have independent access without sharing a code. A personalized 5-digit code entered on the top-mounted electronic keypad works as a secondary access method if a wet or dirty finger doesn't read cleanly. Two backup cylinder keys are included as an emergency backup in case of a dead battery or a forgotten code. When any of the three unlock methods verifies, the auto-opening top door lifts on its own with a soft-landing mechanism so there's no slam in a quiet bedroom, and a built-in LED lights the interior for one-handed access in the dark.
