At the heart of the door is Browning's Uni-Force Locking System, which drives all 22 active locking bolts simultaneously for consistent, even engagement across the full door frame, eliminating weak points left by single-point locking mechanisms. The OmniBarrier Lock Protection System adds a second layer of defense by shielding the lock itself against tampering and forced attack. A 1-5/16" Duo-Formed steel door construction backed by a 7-gauge frame gives the door exceptional rigidity, while external ball-bearing hinges ensure smooth, reliable operation for years of daily use. For fire protection, 1-7/8" of fire-resistant insulation in the door works alongside a Palusol expanding fire seal to block heat and smoke at the door frame.
Installation is straightforward for new construction or existing frames. The included external L-frame with 1/2" steel J-bolt anchors can be poured in place during new construction or secured to an existing frame using expansion anchors or lag bolts, and the L-flange accommodates any wall with a minimum thickness of 5-1/2". A minimum rough opening of 83" H x 36" W is required, with a clear opening width of 30-5/8". The door includes an internal lock release so the vault can always be opened from within, an important safety feature that prevents accidental lockout. The knurled five-spoke Buckmark handle is available in your choice of color (gold, chrome, or black-chrome), and the door ships with a painted, textured, gloss, two-tone, or black primer coat, ready to match any decor.
