Products undergo exhaustive testing procedures passing fire and explosion hazard tests conducted by Underwriters Laboratories, exposing the file to temperatures of up to 1700 degrees F for one hour resulting in the internal temperature not exceeding 350 degrees F. The UL Impact Rating means this product can survive a loaded fall of 30 feet and maintain fire protection. FireKing’s steel lattice reinforcement offers this impact protection on all six sides. 

It is also ETL verified for 30 minutes of media protection for external hard drives, CDs, DVDs, or LTO DLT tapes. Sprinklers and fire hoses often cause more damage than the fire itself, and all FireKing files are designed to prevent water damage from water sprinkler systems and fire hoses.

The FireKing 3-2131-C Three Drawer Legal Fire File Cabinet comes with a Medeco high-security key lock. Additional locks, including a mechanical lock, a high-security mechanical lock, and a digital electronic lock, are available as an upgrade. FireKing offers asbestos-free, dry insulation.
