Not only does it offer a great way to store your smaller-sized documents in an organized fashion, but this file cabinet is made by one of the industries leading manufacturers in top fire protection. Fireking has a U.L. fire rating on the 6-2552-C for one hour, which means it has the same fire resistance that other FireKing Lateral Fire File Cabinets have. This cabinet has solid steel panels and fire insulation that protects each drawer. The insulation material was tested in extreme conditions to ensure heat resistance on the inside.

The filing system was placed in a burn chamber that exceeded 1700 degrees F. The inside temperature never rose above 350 degrees F, which is sufficient for paper documents. To give you an idea of the level of protection, the paper will burst into flames at temperatures of 451 degrees F and higher. That is superior fire protection.

You gain water resistance with the insulation material along with the fire protection. It is designed to prevent damage from fire sprinkler systems and fire hoses.
