The Mesa MSL-500 Digital Lock Kit is a direct replacement for digital locks used on the Mesa MFL Depository Series safes. If you are having an issue with your lock, this lock kit can be used to replace your lock. We recommend calling Mesa's technical support to determine if this lock will work on your safe before buying.

If you have a Mesa MBF Gun Safe or MBF Burglar Fire Safe, you need the MSL-50 Electronic Lock Kit

The MSL-500 Lock Kit comes with the following:

  • MSL-500 Lock Kit - Both keypad and lock body.
  • MSL-500 Mounting Color - Attaches keypad to the safe.

Benefits of the MSL-500 Lock:

  • Six Code Capacity - Lock is shipped from factory with a factory set Master Code. Users: Master, User 1, User 2, User 3, User 4 & User 5
  • Wrong Code Penalty - If three incorrect entries are entered in a row, the keypad will shut down for a period of five minutes. During this shut down period you will not get a response from the keypad.
  • Audio / Visual Signals - The lock has no response (no flash, no beeps). 
  • Low Battery Alert - Controller repeated beeping during an unlocking indicates that the battery is low and needs immediate replacement. Recommended to use a 9-Volt premier alkaline batteries and an annual maintenance replacement of the batteries.
  • Single & Dual User Mode - Single mode: Open lock with one (1) code (override or user code). Dual Mode: Open lock with two (2) codes (User 1 and User 2 code).
  • Time Delay - Programmable time delay function can be set from 01 minutes to 59 minutes. Time Delay: A time period waiting for opening lock.

Safes under 150 lbs ship via UPS or FedEx Ground, no appointment needed. Safes weighing 150 lbs or more ship via freight (LTL); the freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment once the safe reaches your local terminal.

Can you deliver it inside my house and bolt it down?

We don't provide inside delivery directly, but we work with third-party installers across the country who do. Here's how it works: call us at 800-207-2259 for a recommendation in your area, and we'll provide the names and phone numbers of installers we've worked with. You contact the installer directly to arrange pricing for delivery and installation. Once you've agreed on a price, place your order with us using the installer's address as the shipping destination. Will this fit through my doorway?

Check the product's exterior dimensions (listed above) against your narrowest passage, interior doorways, stair landings, and tight turns. Most people remove the safe from the pallet before moving it indoors, so the safe's actual dimensions are what matter for doorways. Can I change the combination myself?

Electronic locks: yes; it takes about 30 seconds. Instructions are included with your safe. Mechanical dial locks: no, changing a dial combination requires a licensed safe technician. Important: attempting to change a dial combination yourself (or having an unlicensed locksmith do it) voids the lock warranty. A licensed safe tech maintains the warranty. What if it arrives damaged?

Call us immediately — while you have 24 hours to report damage, calling right away gets the claim filed faster. Take photos of the damage and packaging before moving anything. For minor cosmetic damage, we typically send touch-up paint plus a partial refund. For significant damage, we send replacement parts or arrange a full replacement. Order Protection (optional at checkout) speeds refund payouts to 48–72 hours vs. 30–60 days through standard freight claims; replacement safes ship on the manufacturer's normal timeline regardless.
