The Phoenix 4622 Data Commander is a 2 hour fire rated data media safe. It comes in three sizes (this is the medium sized version). The outside dimensions are 68.75" H x 27.50" W x 28.50" D. It is designed to protect data and media such as tape cartridges, hard drives, CDs, DVDs, USBs and memory sticks. It can also be used to protect documents such as tax records, company deeds and registration certificates from theft as well as water and fire damage. A normal fire safe will not protect media. In a fire, temperatures can get up to 350 degrees F. The Phoenix 4622 has a 125 degree F fire protection which means temperatures inside the safe will not exceed 125 degrees F. The outside temperature was heated up to 1850 degrees F during the test.
The double-door construction with internal seals of the Phoenix 4622 Data Commander will also prevent damage to your documents and media. This includes water from fire hoses, sprinklers or floods. It has also been impact tested and is impact-resistant for 30-foot drops. If this safe falls through the floor in the event of a fire, you don't want the door to pop open, destroying your contents. Phoenix has tested the Phoenix 4622 to make sure that seals and fireproofing insulation withstand typical amounts of debris that fall during a fire.
