The Vaultek LifePod 10 Essential is a compact, weather-resistant portable case built around a built-in Smart Sense capacitive keypad, sized to carry a compact handgun up to 7.75 inches long plus a spare magazine, a wallet, keys, or other everyday-carry items. Dual-side compression latches and an inner rubber gasket seal the interior from water, dust, and air, so the case holds up to rain, pool decks, boats, and trunks without getting the contents wet. It meets TSA guidelines for airline-checked firearm transport, which makes it a practical choice for travel to the range, concealed-carry trips, hunting, or any flight where a compact handgun needs to be locked for transport in checked baggage.
Access is handled by a backlit touch-activated Smart Sense keypad on the lid. The keypad lights up on approach for low-light entry, and two manual backup keys are included for use if the battery dies before you can get to a USB port. An optional anti-picking feature can be enabled from the inside to disable the front keyway entirely for buyers who prefer electronic-only access with no physical lock-picking surface. The case body is molded from Vaultek's proprietary T3 Polymer blend rather than steel, which keeps the loaded weight to about two pounds while still passing Vaultek's internal drop and impact testing. The sealed design means the LifePod 10 Essential is airtight and dustproof in addition to being water-resistant, and the case floats in water. Power comes from a single 9V alkaline battery (not included) with up to one year of battery life under normal use. A micro-USB port behind the front rubber keyhole cover lets you power the keypad directly if the battery dies, so you can unlock without opening the case to swap the battery.

The included three-piece high-density crate foam interior lets you build custom cutouts around a specific handgun or kit and keeps contents from sliding during travel, and the included 50-inch steel security cable loops through the attachment point to anchor the case to a car seat frame, bed frame, hotel safe, or any fixed object so the whole case can't just be picked up and carried off.
