The body is made of Vaultek's T3 polymer, a proprietary, impact-resistant blend that's neither metal nor a light-duty plastic. It's drop-tested, lightweight at roughly two and a half pounds, and rugged enough to ride in a glovebox, a range bag, or checked luggage without worrying about it. Dual side compression latches and an inner rubber gasket make the LifePod airtight, dustproof, and water-resistant enough to float, so wet boat decks, rainstorms, and the bottom of a beach bag aren't a problem. Inside the lid, the custom leather organizer with rose gold accents has card slots, a mesh pocket, and a built-in AirTag pocket so you can drop a tracker in if the box ever leaves your sight.
The LifePod meets TSA guidelines for checked luggage firearm storage, which means it flies with you as easily as it sits on a nightstand. A 9V alkaline battery (not included) runs the electronics for up to a year of normal use. If the battery ever dies, an integrated micro-USB port hidden behind the front keyhole cover lets you power the unit externally and get back in. The compression seal works whether or not the battery is alive, so even an out-of-power LifePod still keeps water and dust out.
