The Vaultek LifePod XE Biometric Edition adds Vaultek's 360-degree HD weatherproof fingerprint scanner to the XE briefcase-style platform, giving you the fastest possible access in the dark, with one hand, without having to remember a code. If your LifePod sits on a nightstand for home defense, in a vehicle for daily concealed carry, or anywhere speed of access matters more than method, this is the version to choose.
Three ways to open it, all keyed to you. The 360-degree HD biometric scanner stores up to twenty unique fingerprints and reads from any angle, including upside down, so a quick grab in the dark or while seated in a vehicle reads cleanly the first time. A Smart Sense touch-activated keypad accepts a custom four- to eight-digit code as an alternative. Two included manual backup keys cover the rare case where the electronics are not an option.
The body is Vaultek's TP3 polymer, the next-generation version of the T3 used on earlier LifePods. It's a proprietary impact-resistant blend that is neither metal nor light-duty plastic. It's drop-tested, lightweight, and rugged enough to ride in a glovebox, backpack, or checked luggage. The closed case measures 14.125 inches wide, 12 inches deep, and 3.75 inches tall, with a slim briefcase profile that gives the XE line its name. It fits under a vehicle passenger seat, in a backpack, in a carry-on, or in a nightstand drawer without taking over the space.
Dual front compression latches plus an inner rubber gasket make the LifePod XE airtight, dustproof, water-resistant enough to float, and TSA-compliant for checked-luggage firearm transport when you follow your airline's guidelines. A quick-release steel security cable mount lets you tether the box to a vehicle frame, bed frame, or fixed anchor when you need to leave it unattended.
Inside, the Biometric Edition ships with a top lid crate foam layer and multiple lower crate foam layers, which you can rearrange to adjust the depth for smaller or larger items. The modular interior also accepts a range of optional Vaultek accessories (sold separately): a lid organizer with mesh pockets, a quick-release mounting kit, and a removable drop-in tray with quick-release straps for vehicle mounting. Start with the foam and add what you need over time.
A 9V alkaline battery (not included) runs the electronics for up to a year of normal use. If the battery dies, a hidden USB-C port behind the front keyhole cover lets you power the unit externally and get back in. The compression seal works whether or not the battery is alive, so even an out-of-power LifePod XE still keeps water and dust out.
