Winchester Bandit 14 Gun Safe with Electronic Lock

$ 1,099.99
Winchester Bandit 14 Gun Safe with Electronic Lock

The Winchester Bandit 14 is the compact closet-size safe in Winchester's Bandit series, sized to hold up to 20 long guns in a 60-inch-tall, 22-inch-wide, 18-inch-deep footprint that fits inside a standard bedroom closet with room to close the door. That footprint matters because a lot of first-time buyers don't have a dedicated safe room, an attached garage with wall space, or a basement corner to give up. They have a closet. The Bandit 14 was built around that constraint and sits at the small end of the Bandit line, between the Bandit 9 and the Bandit 19.

The Bandit 14 ships in Winchester's slate finish, a durable, powder-coated satin grey that reads neutral against most bedroom, office, and closet interiors, and comes with Winchester's 3-spoke chrome vault handle.

Inside the safe, Winchester ships 11 GunStiXX with the Bandit 14. GunStiXX are Winchester's rifle spacers, sleeves that slip over the barrel of each long gun and keep the stocks from clashing against each other in the bottom of the safe, protecting finished wood and cheek pieces from rub marks and letting you pack more guns into the same footprint without damage. The main compartment also includes an adjustable shelving system so you can carve out a top-shelf zone for handguns, ammunition, documents, and valuables, and Winchester's door panel organizer on the inside of the door adds pistol holders and small-parts pockets that keep frequently accessed items visible at eye level rather than buried under long guns. A small pass-through hole in the back of the body lets you run a power cord for a dehumidifier rod or an interior light kit (both sold separately) without leaving the door cracked or drilling your own hole.

The Bandit 14 uses a SecuRam electronic lock with a mechanical backup key. SecuRam is a well-established commercial safe-lock brand and the standard electronic lock on Winchester's Bandit series; the backup key gives you access if the keypad fails or the batteries die at an inconvenient moment. Winchester states the Bandit 14 exceeds California DOJ requirements, which is the regulatory floor most gun-safe buyers actually care about.

On construction, the Bandit 14 is built from 14-gauge steel with a recessed door and reinforced steel return jambs designed to defeat pry-bar attacks. Eight 1-inch solid steel locking bolts hold the door closed, four active and four dead, so the door is locked on all four sides even against a pry attempt from the hinge side. Winchester uses solid steel external strap hinges rather than internal hinges on the Bandit line, a cost decision that also gives you a wider door swing than an internal hinge design. At 314 pounds empty, the Bandit 14 is walkable by two people if it isn't anchored, so use the pre-drilled anchor holes and bolt it to the closet floor when you set it up.

The fire rating is 45 minutes at 1400°F, which is the residential-fire-response standard for a closet-size safe at this price point and appropriate for the contents most Bandit 14 buyers store: long guns, ammunition, and personal documents in a house that will get a fire-department response within a normal suburban response window.

If 20 long guns isn't quite enough capacity, step up to the Winchester Bandit 19, which holds up to 24 long guns in a wider footprint. For collections in the 30+ long gun range, the Winchester Bandit 31 holds up to 38 long guns.

If you have questions about the Bandit 14 or how it compares to the Bandit 19 or Bandit 31 in the same series, please call us at 800-207-2259.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is shipping really free?

Yes. Free delivery is included on every safe we sell, anywhere in the lower 48 states. The specific delivery method depends on the safe's weight: small package delivery for under 150 lbs, curbside, or garage delivery for heavier safes. See full shipping details →

How long will this take to arrive?

Shipping timelines vary by product. Check the availability status at the top of this page for the estimated ship date. Once shipped, transit time typically runs 5–10 business days, depending on your location. You'll receive tracking when the safe leaves the warehouse. Safes under 150 lbs ship via UPS or FedEx Ground, no appointment needed. Safes weighing 150 lbs or more ship via freight (LTL); the freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment once the safe reaches your local terminal.

Can you deliver it inside my house and bolt it down?

We don't provide inside delivery directly, but we work with third-party installers across the country who do. Here's how it works: call us at 800-207-2259 for a recommendation in your area, and we'll provide the names and phone numbers of installers we've worked with. You contact the installer directly to arrange pricing for delivery and installation. Once you've agreed on a price, place your order with us using the installer's address as the shipping destination. The installer receives the safe, inspects it, and schedules your final delivery appointment. Some installers prefer to pick the safe up directly from the freight terminal. See inside delivery details →

Will this fit through my doorway?

Check the product's exterior dimensions (listed above) against your narrowest passage, interior doorways, stair landings, and tight turns. Most people remove the safe from the pallet before moving it indoors, so the safe's actual dimensions are what matter for doorways. Standard interior doorways (30–32" clear) accommodate most residential safes, but measure before ordering. Call us if you're uncertain. See where to locate your safe →

Can I change the combination myself?

Electronic locks: yes; it takes about 30 seconds. Instructions are included with your safe. Mechanical dial locks: no, changing a dial combination requires a licensed safe technician. Important: attempting to change a dial combination yourself (or having an unlicensed locksmith do it) voids the lock warranty. A licensed safe tech maintains the warranty. See lock operating instructions →

Note: Some mechanical pushbutton locks (like Simplex) can be changed by the user without a technician. Check your specific lock's instructions.

What if it arrives damaged?

Call us immediately — while you have 24 hours to report damage, calling right away gets the claim filed faster. Take photos of the damage and packaging before moving anything. For minor cosmetic damage, we typically send touch-up paint plus a partial refund. For significant damage, we send replacement parts or arrange a full replacement. Order Protection (optional at checkout) speeds refund payouts to 48–72 hours vs. 30–60 days through standard freight claims; replacement safes ship on the manufacturer's normal timeline regardless. See receiving your safe →

What's your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy on unused, in-original-condition products. The return freight for a heavy safe is substantial, so we strongly encourage you to call us before ordering if you're unsure about fit or configuration. See full return policy →

Can I place my order by phone?

Yes. Call us Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm Pacific at 800-207-2259. You have two options: we can take the full order by phone (we pause the call recording before you read your card number, so payment info is never stored), or we can build your order and email you a payable invoice link so you can enter your own payment details securely.
