AMSEC CE4524 AMVAULT TL 15 Composite Safe Review with Dye the Safe Guy

Hi, this is Dye the Safe Guy, Dye Hawley here to talk about the AMSEC CE4524 TL-15 high-security burglar fire safe. This safe is 52" high, 34" wide and 30" deep. It weighs 2,003 pounds and it has the UL (Underwriters Lab) TL-15 burglary rating and a 2-hour factory fire rating.  People ask me all the time about TL ratings. Basically UL has tested this safe and certified that it meets certain construction requirements that they have set out many many years ago for all safe manufacturers. A lot of people say "it's 15 minutes to break into a TL-15." No, TL-15 means 15 minutes of tool time. If a bad guy drills a hole and it takes 15 seconds, that is 15 seconds out of the 15 minutes. It could take the UL safecrackers (and they are the best in the world) several hours to break into this safe. All it has to do is pass the 15 minutes of tool time which could be an hour or two down the road.

The other thing is, if they get a 6" square hole in the side of the safe, as long as it meets the TL-15 requirement, it passes. American Security has been in the safe business for a long time and they build a really great quality safe.  This safe has a manual dial lock on it, but you can order it with any number of digital electronic locks. The door is a massive 5-1/2" thick. The real part of the door here is almost 3" and the rest is the bolt work as you see here. The body is 3-1/2" thick and of course, it has 3 adjustable shelves inside. You can move them up or down. If you want to order 1 or 2 more, it costs a little bit extra but it's not that bad.

American Security has been in business since 1948. We started in 1948 so we've been buying them for 70+ years. This takes about 22 business days to build. They don't keep these in stock. When you order it, the pricing you see on our website includes free shipping with curbside delivery. One question I get all the time from customers looking for a TL-15 safe is "how much can I store in it value-wise." Underwriters Lab and the insurance companies recommend do not exceed $200,000 to $250,000 in total content value.

Thanks again for watching and listening. This is Dye Hawley, Dye the Safe Guy with Safe & Vault Store. Give us a call at 800-207-2259 if you have more questions.
