The Contacta IL-AE99 is an under-the-counter hearing loop aerial for one-to-one service points where you want the hearing loop installed without a visible sign on the counter or barrier. Rather than a fixed panel like the IL-AE97 above-the-counter aerial or the IL-AE98 window-mounted aerial, the IL-AE99 is a flexible 6-foot copper wire in a black PVC jacket that installers shape to match the counter's footprint and secure to the underside of the counter with self-adhesive clips, P-clips, or hot glue. Once installed, the aerial transmits a magnetic field up through the counter surface, and any customer with a hearing aid or cochlear implant switched to the T-coil (telecoil) position picks up the audio directly in their device from the hearing loop driver.
The under-the-counter design is the right choice in three specific scenarios. First, when the customer-facing side of the counter needs to stay uncluttered by signage (retail counters where clean aesthetics matter, high-end lobby desks, museum reception). Second, when a T-coil sign is already provided elsewhere at the service point (a wall-mounted sign, a printed handout, a POS screen prompt) and the aerial just needs to deliver signal. Third, when the barrier or counter geometry doesn't accommodate the flat panels of the IL-AE97 or IL-AE98. The IL-AE99 covers a magnetic field strength distance of approximately 47 inches, which is the working distance from the wire to the customer's ear for reliable pickup.
The IL-AE99 is designed to work with Contacta's hearing loop drivers, including the STS-A31H window intercom amplifier's built-in hearing loop drive and the HLD2 loop driver. Both driver and aerial combinations meet BS EN 60118-4:2006 AFILS hearing loop performance standards when installed correctly. The aerial itself is CE and FCC EMC compliant.
The IL-AE99 ships as a ~6-foot length of 0.15-inch-diameter copper wire in a black PVC protective covering, ready to be shaped to fit the specific counter it is being installed under. Installation runs quickly with the mounting hardware of your choice (self-adhesive clips are typical for smooth-surface counters; P-clips are typical for exposed structural undersides).
The IL-AE99 is well suited to bank teller windows, post office counters, supermarket customer service desks, information center reception, library circulation counters, airport check-in and ticket booths, embassy and government facility reception, and any other above-the-counter service point where a hearing loop needs to be installed without visible above-counter hardware.
If you're not sure whether the IL-AE99 under-the-counter aerial is the right choice for your installation (as opposed to the IL-AE97 above-the-counter aerial or the IL-AE98 window-mounted aerial), please call us at 800-207-2259.

Yes. Free delivery is included on every safe we sell, anywhere in the lower 48 states. The specific delivery method depends on the safe's weight: small package delivery for under 150 lbs, curbside, or garage delivery for heavier safes. See full shipping details →
Shipping timelines vary by product. Check the availability status at the top of this page for the estimated ship date. Once shipped, transit time typically runs 5–10 business days, depending on your location. You'll receive tracking when the safe leaves the warehouse. Safes under 150 lbs ship via UPS or FedEx Ground, no appointment needed. Safes weighing 150 lbs or more ship via freight (LTL); the freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment once the safe reaches your local terminal.
We don't provide inside delivery directly, but we work with third-party installers across the country who do. Here's how it works: call us at 800-207-2259 for a recommendation in your area, and we'll provide the names and phone numbers of installers we've worked with. You contact the installer directly to arrange pricing for delivery and installation. Once you've agreed on a price, place your order with us using the installer's address as the shipping destination. The installer receives the safe, inspects it, and schedules your final delivery appointment. Some installers prefer to pick the safe up directly from the freight terminal. Check the product's exterior dimensions (listed above) against your narrowest passage, interior doorways, stair landings, and tight turns. Most people remove the safe from the pallet before moving it indoors, so the safe's actual dimensions are what matter for doorways. Standard interior doorways (30–32" clear) accommodate most residential safes, but measure before ordering. Call us if you're uncertain. See where to locate your safe →
Electronic locks: yes; it takes about 30 seconds. Instructions are included with your safe. Mechanical dial locks: no, changing a dial combination requires a licensed safe technician. Important: attempting to change a dial combination yourself (or having an unlicensed locksmith do it) voids the lock warranty. A licensed safe tech maintains the warranty. See lock operating instructions →
Note: Some mechanical pushbutton locks (like Simplex) can be changed by the user without a technician. Check your specific lock's instructions.
Call us immediately — while you have 24 hours to report damage, calling right away gets the claim filed faster. Take photos of the damage and packaging before moving anything. For minor cosmetic damage, we typically send touch-up paint plus a partial refund. For significant damage, we send replacement parts or arrange a full replacement. Order Protection (optional at checkout) speeds refund payouts to 48–72 hours vs. 30–60 days through standard freight claims; replacement safes ship on the manufacturer's normal timeline regardless. We offer a 30-day return policy on unused, in-original-condition products. The return freight for a heavy safe is substantial, so we strongly encourage you to call us before ordering if you're unsure about fit or configuration. See full return policy →
