One of the first decisions you need to make when selecting a vault door is which way you want the door to swing. Do you want the door to swing in or out? Vault Doors that have an inswing door option are designed to be used as a storm shelter or panic room. This means that the door swings inward inside the room. After punching in your code or running your combination, just push the door in to enter the room.
If debris were to fall in front of the door, someone could still open the door to get out. It can also be used as a concealment door. A regular door or something like a bookcase could be put in front of the inswing vault door to hide the door from plain sight. Now only you know it's there.
